To mark the Platinum Jubilee, we were honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, to our special Jubilee picnic.
As the school gathered in the sunshine on the banks of the River Cherwell, the Princess and her husband, OD (1997), unveiled the Platinum Jubilee bee hive, which will house a new queen bee and her colony. The two youngest children in the Prep school presented the couple with Dragon honey, extracted by children during our Dragon Bees Quest activity. Chris Scott, our longest serving member of staff, also planted a hornbeam (Carpinus) tree as part of the Queen’s Canopy initiative.
Meanwhile, at the Pre-Prep our younger children enjoyed a morning of fun and games, and a spectacular picnic lunch outside in their red, white or blue outfits!
It was wonderful to be able to bring children and colleagues together for this memorable occasion and celebrate her Majesty the Queen’s remarkable service to this country.
